Mr. DeAngelis is once again incorrect and attempting to somehow warp history. It is a convoluted attempt to move the blame for the delaying fire apparatus replacement off the shoulders of former First Selectman Ed St. John and Mrs. Strobel.
The truth is that there was no fire commission in 2003. Mr. St. John and Mrs. Strobel formed their ill-fated commission back in June of 2006. You can watch it happen by clicking HERE. The funny thing is that Mr. DeAngelis was also in attendance at that exact meeting when the fire commission was formed, so I am curious why he thought such a commission was in existence in 2003.
If you watch the video you will hear Chief Perrotti read a prepared statement regarding the BOS dragging their feet in making the decision about replacing the pumper.
You can’t change what actually happened. The Department drew up a plan in 2002, had a spec in 2003, and the rest is history.

Last night about 9:00PM I took a look at the deangelis site. Good news! There were no giddy 40 point purple headlines about the referendum. That meant that the referendum had passed and Deangelis and the kool-aiders had been defeated.

A few years ago Eddie could walk around most of Middlebury and be greeted with respect. That has changed dramatically. Eddie cannot go anywhere except to meetings surrounded by cronies.
Eddie is unelectible. He will be more unelectible after he's gotten a summons for the Washington Drive malfeasance. I hope the reporters take that story and run with it instead of burying it like they've done lately.

Terri Perrotti was NOT there. Pat Deangelis was there (supporting the MVFD). L Matson was also there singing praises of Perrotti. What happened with those two?
Mike McDonald questioned St. John's job description. There were two other people there who spoke in favor of the MVFD but I don't know who they were. There were also several MVFD members there.
Hal Lynch was NOT there. He was sick, and they did this behind his back. Sneaky...

After listening and watching much more closely I see Laurie Mattson and Pat Deangelis, shoulder to shoulder on the right. Dave Lenkowski is off camera but is the most persistent questioner on the commission. There is a woman on the left, off camera, who spoke. Paul was a perfect respectful gentleman, as always. St. John looks young in this movie compared to now. He has aged tremendously in the last two years.
I don't think Mike McDonald has softened on his criticism of St. John. He got quite a verbal dance in his questions about dual roles and conflict of interest. The MRTC meetings must be like Arab - Israeli talks.
Gormley's administration starts to look better and better after seeing this!
If anyone has a doubt as to the power that Eddie has, just talk to Bill Perrotti. His pub was held up for years for nonsense reasons. Even today P&Z member Bill Stowell needed to recuse himself when Bill applied for his Ice Cream permit.
