Mr. DeAngelis wants to spend more of “his own money” on a lawyer and drive up to Hartford with his two sidekicks, in order to ascertain information he can obtain by simply reading the MVFD budget that passed by over 200 votes last week. He also seeks to waste more Taxpayer money with his never-ending flood of FOIs directed at Town Hall. How much will it cost the taxpayers to send the Town's attorney to Hartford on the 16th?
As stated countless times, all Taxpayer money that is budgeted to the MVFD is paid through Town Hall. The Town’s Finance Department writes the checks, not the MVFD, nor the MVFD Treasurer.
If Mr. DeAngelis needs more details about the Department’s heating and electrical bills, he needs only to go to Town Hall. The Town Hall is a lot closer than Hartford.

Mr. DeAnus has cried in print that he is a senior citizen with a meager pension living on a fixed income. He bemoans the fact that if his town taxes go up, he won't have any money left over to spend on his grand children. To hear him tell it, he's one step away from dog food casserloes and bustin' up his furniture to burn for heat. This leads me to ask one question: Who is paying Attorney Buckley's fees? I doubt he's doing it pro bono. Could it be one of Pat's carpooling buddies is footing the bill? For what? A little quid pro quo? Talk about your strange bedfellows...

WRONG!!!!! the money DOES NOT come from the Town Hall to the MVFD. ALL bills paid out of the town budget are sent to Town Hall, following a process outlined in another post on this page. That is not what Pat is looking for. What Pat wants to do is get into the money that the MVFD, Inc. raises or is given thru donations, money that he has already been told by the FOI Commission he can't see. So, his relentless pusuit of the knowledge of how much money you may or may not have donated to the FD is simply harrassment. If he thinks the MVFD is somehow slipping something by Belden AND the BOS, and ginning up phony bills, so thay can transfer Town funds to themselves, then just make the accusation, have it investigated, and proven one way or another. So, you may ask youself, why hasn't he done that? Very simple. He knows there is no wrong-doing. He, and his co-horts, are determined to continue to harass the MVFD and Paul Perrotti. Here's the bottom line: I, and many people like me, donate to Non-profits safe in the knowledge that how much I give is my business, and my business alone. Likewise, if I ever needed the assistance of a non-profit, I feel safe again knowing what they did for me is no one's business. How would you feel if your church monitored how much each person put in the basket each Sunday, and published that info on their website? Not much difference. The bottom line is very simple: Pat has already been given access to all the documents he is legally allowed to see. Anything more is just continual wasting of many peoples time.

Brainwashed? You bet. When the chips are down, who are you going to rely on? Dr. St. John or Paul Perrotti? The MVFD or the RTC? Pat DeAnus or Tom Gormely?
Let's see: Paul Perrotti will personaly climb a ladder to save your cat. Dr. St. John as never lifted a finger or broke a sweat to help anybody. Even when he was fire chief, he always had someone else do his dirty work.
The MVFD will sponsor Little Leauge, pay for scholarships and give you kids a great Halloween party (free of charge) every year. The RTC gives money away to politicians and steals signs off your lawn. Tom Gormely will shovel your driveway during a blizzard. Pat DeAnus will stab you in the back and snipe at you from the saftey of his bunker. Yeah, I'm brainwashed alright...

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm hardly the type to be brainwashed by anyone. What I am is the type to deal in facts, not some drivel on someone's website. Unfortunately, when the facts don't fit the agenda, certain individuals feel that the facts should be twisted to make them fit. I, for one, don't need Paul Perrotti to tell me the facts. I know them for myself. I have been to FOI seminars, and know how the FOI Commission sees volunteer fire departments. Pat wants access to something that the FOI Commission has consistently ruled is not public domain. What is his goal? I'd love to go on public access with him, one on one, and have a civil discourse on what he's trying to accomplish. Unfortunately, that will NEVER happen. He refuses to allow himself to be drawn into any sort of debate about what he's driving at. Notice that he never comes out and makes a flat-out accusation. He never will, because innuendo serves his purposes much better. There's no opportunity for any dissent on his website. Why is that? In my opinion, the only one trying the brainwashing is Pat. Anyone who KNOWS could see that on a daily basis on that website of his. So sorry, no brainwashing here......
I think for myself. I'm not a fireman. I attend town meetings. I go to the town clerk's office and read the meeting minutes (nowadays I do it on the web site). I scrutinize the budget and actually visit the town offices to see the so-called waste.
Deangelis is a jerk.
