“Before we buy a new fire engine for
parades how about the MVFD pays for part
of it out of their $ 800,000.00?
According to their IRS filings the MVFD has over 800 grand in
assets. They have refused to open their books but when they finally do
on Oct 16th. we will get a look at how they have been spending this
money. Do you notice how they want to quickly get the fire truck money
BEFORE FOI orders them to open their books after the Oct. 16 FOI
hearing?
Gormley is not out of the woods on this one as he may still has
personal financial culpability.”
Mr. DeAngelis continues to illustrate that he has an inability to listen and learn.
1) The MVFD does not have $800,000.00. The tax return he sites is 2005. Not exactly up to date.
2) Plans for a replacement pumper began in 2002. I would not say the process is being rushed. As usual Mr. DeAngelis does not know what he is talking about.
3) No member of the MVFD has any intention of being in Hartford on October 16th. Any information he is legally entitled to has already been delivered, in the process of being delivered, or is available at Town Hall.
4) Front line fire apparatus does not go to parades out of Town.

To people who think that the Firemen are Jerks. Pat is basically telling us that he is going to bring Gormley to court on a personal level ( a Threat). To all who say that the middlebury fireman are assholes look who you are promoting. Look in the mirror before you call us scumbags.
While the White Avenue Cryer has always been less than helpful, his rhetoric has stooped to a new low. He continually skates on the edge of libel. Pat, all I have to say is this: If you are going to criticise, as is your God-given right as an American, then at least make it constructive. I have yet to see anything other than criticism of the town department with the smallest budget, and the largest staff. You insinuate financial culpability and wrong-doing, and yet I still do not see Dick Blumenthal hanging around the firehouse or Town Hall. If you think something's wrong, make your case. Unfortunately, you won't, because once the AG's office starts sniffing around, they might find some skeletons your "friends" would rather never see the light of day. Your pronouncements from "The Pit" have reached such a shrill that people only look for their own amusement, or for later use in a legal action. And what difference does it make to you what people have donated to the MVFD, Inc.? What does that have to do with the Town Budget? I seem to recall, once , a long time ago, that you promised on "The Pit" to look into Region 15? How's that going? If you were truly concerned about taxes, you'd be looking elsewhere than the MVFD. And, while I'm at it, Steve is right. The taxpayers legally have no right to vote on the WPCA budget, and, therefore, it should not be on the Town Meeting agenda. Just ask Lewis Clark. Only sewer users can vote on the WPCA budget. If you are going to talk trash, at least get your facts straight, oh learned elder sage of White AVe!!!!
