“This does not include "incentive" pay or stipends .”
Mr. DeAngelis is once again incorrect. The above list is in fact the Incentive Pay for the period of July 2007 - June 2008. If you add all the numbers up you will see that the total comes to $30,000, which is the yearly incentive pay for the MVFD.
I don’t know what Mr. DeAngelis is trying to prove by all this, but he certainly does a bang-up job illustrating who is dedicating the most amount time to the MVFD.
The Incentive Pay plan was a plan started by the MVFD when Mr. St. John was First Selectman. Several years ago there was discussion of providing a pension plan to give something back to members for their years of service. The system proved to be too expensive. On top of that, requiring members to wait until they were 65 years old to collect this pension hardly was a way to attract young firefighters.
Consequently, an Incentive Pay plan was established. It was based on a “Point System.” The Point System is based on the member’s fire call attendance, training attendance, meeting attendance, and years of service. There is a minimum number of points one must accumulate in order to qualify for pay. (Thus the name Incentive.)
Mike vonKannewurff created an Excel Spreadsheet program that easily calculates the Incentive Pay using the parameters described above.
So what does the above list show? It shows the names of Middlebury Firefighters whose participation was such that they earned the minimum number of points to qualify for the incentive pay. Members who do not appear on the list did not make the necessary number of points.
Those with the highest pay where those firefighters who attended the most number of fire calls. The more calls you make, the more pay you get. If you don’t make enough calls, you get nothing from the plan.
The list above is a snapshot in time, showing the dedication many MVFD members have towards protecting life and property in Middlebury.

HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE THE LAST ENTRY.......GIVE UP THE FIGHT.LOOK WERE IT GOT YA!
YOUR A GOOD MAN AND VOLUNTEER, BUT VOLUTEERISM AND POLITICS' DON'T MIX.
So Jim Thanks for all of your tiring efforts.
It's apparent that your one of the 27 snakes that unsucessfully tried to vote out the Chief earlier tonight. Well you failed. Just because Redway speaks the truth for the Department he got beat up in the fire dept election. The sad thing is you helped vote out one of the best fire officers in the Department.
Yes they did, what a big mistake they made last night!!! All you st.ass hole lovers made the biggest mistake,Jim and Brett are great people, and wonderful volunteers!!! All you RATS will soon one day get it!! I see the dept. going down hill, the knew so called F.D. 3 only comes out in Oct. hardly made ANY calls but he's the man, give me a break and than the other knew guy, does he know anything about the F.D.?? he's so..... in love with himself!!! Hey Joe your wife had a baby, your parents where watching your childern and you where out at the bar.... GROW UP!!!!!!
Uh, guys. I like you guys and all, but I must point something out. Your english skills are very poor. A bad reflection on the MVFD. Maybe you were angry and/or drunk when writing. But you make us look illiterate -- and that does not help at all, trust me!
Here are a few tips.
Look where it got ya.
You're a good man.
You're one of the snakes.
The new so-called F.D.
parents were watching.
you were out at the bar.
Please keep up the good fight! Jim Redway is a hero. I pray that he does not shut down this blog. I hope that he broadens this blog to speak the truth about all the lies and distortions in Middlebury.
Yes, it is mostly coming out of Deangelis's anus, but there are other sources of evil out there and Jim's blog is a great truth detector.
like the Tree Fag. The dept should have kicked him out!!!!!!!!
Jim, I just want to say " THANK YOU" for all that you have done for us, you have been a very TRUE AND LOYAL FRIEND to us and it really means alot!!!! It's just to bad that things turned out the way they did, The M.V.F.D. really screwed up this time!!!!! Your a GOOD PERSON!!!!
It is hard to believe that Eddie has been able to poison so much of the town. Things got bad in 2005 when good forces tried to stop him. Unfortunately Eddie survived. Now he's mutated into an even worse evil -- able to take over the minds of good citizens and turn them into zombies that obey his will. The leaders that we've counted on to save us have been neutralized.
What a horror show.
But guess what pattie boy.... PAUL WON!!!!!!!! It may have been only by three votes but it's a victory, so in your face buddie. I told you we are not scared of you and eddie!!!You will not win us, so give it up... Paul is their for two more years; HA, HA on you!!!!!
To the first poster (all in caps). We all know who you are and what you stand for. You may be right (it had to happen sooner or later) that volunteerism ( that's the right way to spell it. For a librarian, you sure are an idiot)and politics (not politics') don't mix. Jim Redway is a good and honest guy who has given a lot to the town through the Fire Department. Every firefighter who rides on the new pumper should shake Jim's hand for all the effort he put into helping us get it.
You sir, on the other hand, have never volunteered for any worthy cause in your miserable old life. What do you get out of politics? A chance to hold the Doctor's hat when you are carpooling to Hartford? Having a Sugar Daddy pay your taxes? Wasting tens of thousands of Middlebury taxpayers' hard earned money? I hope when they build Straw Pond, they raze your house to make room for their dumpster. At least then the rats will be eating garbage instead of creating it...
That's alright. He deserves to get slammed anyway.
where is Perriotti's "He a liar" today ?
Whatever Pat says in the AM, this blog says "liar" in the PM.
I suppose Pat can't be called a liar when he made this statement:
Probably because of the incompetence of Gormley, the "two-facedness" of Dayton and the "rubber stampness" of the Finance Bd.
Belden quit.
Nope. Pat said probably and that only makes Pat stupid and manipulating and distorting. SSDD.
I just came back from Brookfield and the word from Rell's home town is that the CFO search team didn't do their due diligence. Wait till they find that Mikey will be spending a lot of time in Hartford as a result of the forensic audit. I don't think Brookfield will be paying for Mikey's day's off from work or his gas mileage.
Yes. Mikey let the checks get signed for Eddie's malfeasance. The forensic audit isn't fading away folks. It's going to court and Mikey will find himself out of a job, just like Eddie. You won't find that in money pit.
If Eddie thought that this had blown away then he is wrong wrong wrong.
The doctor better practice "not remembering" for his upcoming court appearances. Maybe he can car pool with Mikey.
You know what? Our friend Pattie had a chance to at least appear to be helpful to Middlebury by instructing his lemmings which of the questions can safely be answered YES.
But he has not done that as far as I can see. Therefore his lemmings will probably vote NO mindlessly without reading the question or referring to the article in the Bee-Intelligencer.
That mindlessness will cause unnecessary chaos and extra work and extra costs to un-do simple procedural questions.
Just in case anybody thought that Pattie was trying to help Middlebury in his own crazy way. No. He's firing shots and sniping. Not helping.
And his lemmings must be blamed for the mindless obedience to their leader. They are dumb asses. Maybe some of them will wake up when they see the damage reported in the paper. I assume some of them can read a newspaper.
