“This is where the Waterbury newspaper got it wrong. "Paul Perrotti" didn't receive a grant. Pat DeAngelis wrote a grant for the Fire Dept. DeAngelis didn't write it for Perrotti. Perrotti did nothing to get the grant. He lied to DeAngelis, telling DeAngelis that the grant never was awarded when it had been. He lied and told DeAngelis that the town had already agree to the matching funds, which it had not.
Paul Perrotti "received" nothing. All he did was take credit for something he couldn't possibly do: write a grant. The firemen "received" the grant, not Perrotti. What a loser.”
Actually, to set the record straight, Mr. DeAngelis wrote the narrative to the grant. That’s it. Not the entire grant. His narrative was reported to have been filled with grammatical and spelling errors, and was reworked by Chief Perrotti, and the FD secretary. Also some of the language Mr. DeAngelis used had to be changed as well, because certain firefighting terminology was not correctly used.
In addition, the narrative of the grant is just one part of the grant, and not the entire grant. A great deal of information was collected and compiled by Chief Perrotti that was key to obtaining this grant. This took hours and hours of work and represented the main part of the grant. The MVFD was appreciative of Mr. DeAngelis’s work and even brought it up at a BOS meeting, in which Mr. St. John scoured at the very sound of Mr. DeAngelis’s name.
Its amazing what happens over time. The real truth is forgotten and a new truth is invented to fit the agenda de jour.
As far as Chief Perrotti lying, that is just untrue. Paul Perrotti called Mr. DeAngelis on the very day the MVFD found out they were awarded the grant.
As for the matching funds, Mr. DeAngelis must be forgetting that Mr. St. John’s illustrative fire commission knew about the matching funds months before the December deadline. Their lack of communication with the BOS bolsters the MVFD’s argument that the fire commission created an unnecessary wall of bureaucracy between the MVFD and the BOS. It illustrated that a fire commission was awkward and ineffective. It was created only as a political instrument of Mr. St. John and he used it as a wielding sword of aggression.
For more information about what the BOS and the fire commission knew and when they knew it click on the link below.
http://www.middleburyfire.org/grant2.pdf
The world according to Mr. DeAngelis is not one of satire, but a web of spun distortions and lies to carry on Mr. St. John’s bitter and arrogant vendetta against the MVFD and it’s Chief.
He is joined by former chairman of the now defunct fire commission Ken Heidkamp. Both of these Middlebury residents wrote complaint letters to the SEEC against the MVFD. They are coming soon. Mr. Heidkamp’s complaint letter to the SEEC assumes many things that were just not true. His letter illustrates what this blog and what the fight against the fire commission was really about. For those of you who read this blog, who think that enough is enough with the MVFD, and lets concentrate on the RTC, you have it all wrong. The political epicenter in Middlebury IS the MVFD. The former first Selectman has created the politics and sets the agenda, not the MVFD. It is the reason why Mr. St. John did not ride off in the sunset. It is why he is going against Tom Gormley. It is why he is organizing his cronies on the RTC.
Distort the truth, attack the MVFD in any way possible including bogus and untrue complaint letters to the SEEC.
Bury the MVFD with a never-ending flood of FOIs that are generated more from Bronson drive than they are from White Ave. Attack Tom Gormley and Bob Desmarais. Create a sense of chaos where chaos does not exist.
It is time for people in Middlebury to wake up and take a look around to see what a very small group of people are trying to do to this Town.
Its not about being a Democrat nor a Republican. Its about what is in the best interest of this Town.
If you are a Republican it is time to get behind Tom and give him the support he deserves. Mr. St. John said himself that it would take at least one if not two terms for Tom to get to know the job. It’s ironic that he never afforded Tom such a honeymoon, and appears to work against him at every opportunity.

I don't understand what is motivating Deangelis to be a puppet of Eddie. It's more than just being an obnoxious prick. Deangelis has actually joined with the devil. Why?
It is money. What else would it be?
Does anyone know that Deangelis actually went to college. I beginning to think that he went to the same school that StJohn went to for his "PHD". It does make you wonder.
Someone should FOI tax records for homes on White ave. for the last 10 years. After viewing those documents, it will become apparent exactly why DeAngelis is doing what he is doing..........
I don't understand Heidkamp either. What's his beef? Deangelis is lauding him with compliments. The truth detector tells me that Heidkamp must have a relationship with Eddie. Is there history?
That's easy to figure out. Heidicamp was and probably still is a "crew mate" on the StJohn lollipop boat. Someone is got to do the doctor's nails and whatever else. Got the picture!
Maybe someone got pictures. That would put a quick end to this crap.
Here's another question for ya.
Why is Pattie trying to cause a rift between Bill and Paul? Pattie sits on the pizza parlor porch with "the good ole boys" and joins for breakfast. But Bill and Paul are family. Isn't Pattie asking for a fat lip?
Tom and Paul looked good in the Bee again this week. Pattie has nothing new except increased volume on the SEEC complaint. That's all he's got so he's doubled down. Everything else is stale smoke.
"Code Red is Idiotic"
As always, if Paul or Tom do something good, Pattie calls it idiotic. All three of the local papers wrote Code Red up favorably. The Bee gave Tommy credit for negotiating the price down to $5,000.
Pattie and Eddie must be furious that Middlebury citizens have seen three weeks worth of positive headlines for Tommy and Paul.
Just wait. Spin is coming. Spin is coming.
Is this moron Deangelis for real. He wrote on his garbage website today that he just can understand why the current Town administration had an audit done, etc. Deangelis, the real issue is StJohn's misappropriation of $960,000 of our tax money! And you got the nerve of refering to 1st Selectman Gormley as an idiot. Look who's calling the kettle black.
tick..., tick..., tick...
Pattie and Eddie are worried now.
"We think that the real abuse of power was spending tens of thousands of dollars of public money to find out we didn't hold a timely town meeting "
Yes indeed. Eddie is going to court and Pattie cannot update his web site fast enough.
Hold on to your seats, this will be one hell of a ride!
The question will be asked at this evening's Board of Selectmans meeting.
"Is the Town of Middlebury bringing a lawsuit against former First Selectman Edward B. St. John in the matter of the Washington Drive abuse of power and misappropriation of town funds?"
Come early to get a good seat and hear the answer to that question.
Pattie must be worried. He's updated his web site three times since yesterday. He tells his zombies not to attend the BOS meeting today. I wonder if Eddie will dare to show up?
Half-Chief!, Half-Chief! You are a half chief!
Fly-car! Fly-car! You want a fly-car!
Pattie keeps taunting like a junior high school child...
But the adults are not responding, are they?
In fact, the adults are quiet. The adults are very very quiet. There is whispering outside the BOS meeting on Monday but not a word during the meeting about the issue that is about to explode.
Where's Steve? Patty and Eddie should be asking that question.
Pattie is trying real hard to get a rise out of people and its very interesting that people don't even respond to his stupidity anymore. remember patty boy was an assistant librarian who skipped on his taxes for years and got let go from the state because he had relations with a student(I wonder why hes running with Eddie now.
Everytime he talks about budgets with the state or getting grants hes a liar. I bet part of his Assistant Librarian job was to put together grants so the Library could have toilet paper for the year. Good job pat people were able to wipe their ass because of you. Congrats!!!!!!
Pattie can taunt Chief Perrotti as much as he wants, but most thoughtful Middlebury residents will read the article written by reporter Matt O'Rourke who actually attended the meeting.
The gist of the article is that Chief Perrotti offered to have the MVFD purchase a rapid response "fly car" that would allow a single EMT/RMT to respond to a medical emergency.
Perrotti explained that there are times when there are not two MVFD EMT's available to legally take the ambulance. For those cases the "fly car" would go out with one EMT/RMT and augment the first response provided by Middlebury police. The benefit is speed to emergencies and the deployment of volunteers to free up police from medical calls.
The town would provide insurance for the jointly registered vehicle.
The Board of Selectmen tabled this offer until a more detailed review was done.
Pattie can blow smoke, but the simple fact is that Chief Perrotti made an offer to improve the safety of Middlebury citizens at a very small cost.
For those who claim Pattie doesn't lie, here's a quote from OMP:
This is bullshit as ALL the money the fire dept has is town money.
That is a lie. The MVFD is a 501(3)(c) "fraternal Organization" and Pattie knows this because he has read the organizing documents many times. The incorporated part of the MVFD can spend its money pretty much as it sees fit - and it has done so.
By Pattie's warped reasoning the money held by all 501(3)(c) organizations in Middlebury is town money -- churches, historical society, Lions Club, etc.
And that, my friends, is bullshit...
The most important part of the fly car is 2 reasons
1 The residents of Middlebury will get a higher level of care quicker if there is only 1 MVFD EMT. Police are only trained to the MRT level. The difference between the two is very basic. They both know CPR but an can do some more things that may save a life.
2 There will no cost to the town resident because it will be paid out of the "profits" of the Ambulance fund and donations. It won't raise the insurance rates for the town because the town has a blanket policy.
Pattie wants to see this town burn. Destroy Destroy Destroy. Pattie when are you ever going to do some good to help people out?
It's bad enough that we have Pattie and his outright lies. Every town has a village idiot and we have ours. Fine.
What is more worrisome is that Pattie has a fair number of rats who are helping him. One of them is writing some of his material. I can tell because there are no typos and the grammar is above the fourth grade level. Pattie has other rats attending meetings for the purpose of distortion. I simply cannot understand why anyone would feed this scumbag.
Even rats need food!!
Speaking of rats. It is good to know that Laurie Mattson is still bringing her exceptional financial and analytical expertise to the Board of Finance meetings.
God save us.
Here's a little known fact about Ms. Mattson. She applied for one of two open alternate positions on the MRTC last year. Those positions were eventually filled by Ken Heidkamp and Terry McAuliffe.
One wonders if the MRTC would have kicked her off the committee when she was arrested for sign stealing. One wonders whether she'll be kicked off the Water Commission?
Nah.
The selectmen appointed her, they can replace her.
the problem is they don't have the balls. Their scared and thats a problem. How do you appoint kelli ann bollard to the BOF. I wonder if Tom is trying to please everyone. You bring a destructer to power to please people and then they keep stabbing you in the back.
Grow some balls Tom and kick Mattson off the water commision. She is the one who takes notes for Pat.
Thanks for the useful information about Laurie. I'd like to point out that Joe Bernardi is on the MRTC and was arrested for vandalism already once this year and maybe once more, I've been told. He should be thrown off the MRTC.
These clowns make Middlebury look like a white trash town. With all the educated professionals in town there is no excuse for these people to be in leadership positions.
I think we should reserve judgement about Kelli Bollard being on the BOF. It is true that she has not pulled any rabbits out of the hat, but it is also true that there are no rabbits available for pulling. Very hard decisions need to be made this year. Kelli will not be defending the status quo, so I expect her to be more effective than the ones who are protecting turf. I'll also give her some credit for holding back on the attitude. So far I have no quibble with her on the BOF. Time will tell and 2009 will be difficult.
she did recommend that all departments drop their budgets another 10% after they dropped everyones budget. She had no basis for saying it because when she was asked how all the departments could drop their budgets she had no clue how to do it. This is the type of "financial Guro" that you want leading this town. God help us if she is our next BOF Chairman. This town won't just act like Waterbury it will be Waterbury. If that happens I want to have a vote that we get absorbed back into Waterbury like the old days.(At least we will then get 50% of our budget paid for by the State) She is bad news she does nothing for this town except rip it apart and she does not have the balls to fight the education problem in this town because she has kids in the system.
Also did you see the way she acted when the Channel 3 reporter came to her front door back in 2005. She looked like the biggest bitch in the world and not mention I feel bad for her husband and kids because she is just ugly. She got beaten numerous times with the Ugly Stick
Lets be real she is just bad for Middlebury in General
Anonymous is right and Political Observer is wrong about Kelli.
The Town of Middlebury needs to have its mission and services completely reengineered. You cannot incrementally save a million dollars. It will take brains and leadership to rethink Middlebury's services top to bottom with regard to need and affordability.
I don't think Kelli has the experience or temperament for that kind of work. I don't think Tom Gormley does either - but that's not a slam on Tom. 2009 wll be brutal for Middlebury when the school portion goes up $1 million and tax collections go down.
Some of our crown jewels will need to go. One of them is the police department. We can't afford it if we need to cut back $1 million. As I said, 2009 will be brutal.
Lets judge Kelli Ann by the company she keeps. Whom might that be, you ask? The Wing Nut of White Ave. She answers directly to Mr. Monkey Pit. He feeds her bull spit and she regurgitates to the BOF.
Kelli used to hate the Doctor, but now as the Queen of Row B, she's in cahoots with the Baron of Bronson Dr.
Don't forget how she raided the Rainy Day fund. We sure could use that money now. She's part of the problem, not the solution. Hide your checkbooks Middlebury...
p.s. Hey, Reader, do you really want to get rid of the Police dept? Good luck getting a state cop to come to your house when you really need it. The State sure as hell aint hiring any more any time soon.
don't mention that the state is done with covering towns. They will not except any more towns to cover
Trust me, I don't want to lose our police force. But where else can we cut large dollars? I'm not kidding when I say we're talking about a $ million. Even if Eddie pays back the $950,000 it won't help enough.
Well, Reader, time for you to pony up the dough. Middlebury has done it's best to keep any commercial/industrial bussiness from setting up shop in town. The money has to come from somewhere. You can only cut back so much. It took the former administration 24 years to run the ship aground. It's going to take more than one term to make it float again. Like they say before the prostate exam, "This may hurt a little..."
the problem is if you cut anymore your going to have to cut out something important. This petty stuff (which is all that Pat can come up with) is tearing this town apart. Even if you can cut 100,000 (which is a lot to you and me) its not going to make a difference. Thats why there is no point in cutting anymore unless you cut out a large sum of money which means a whole department.
I say let the town go bankrupt because then the state will be forced to throw us some money. It may also be forced to look at the Idea that region 15 is making the town go bankrupt. its a radical idea but it may work
Someone please riddle me this. Every year I hear the school budget is 1 mil extra ... lets forget the past 5 years i heard it and concentrate on this year. When a budget could not pass this time around Dayton said its the school its killing us. NO SHIT, has anyone done anything about it Answer NO. I mean i am no genius by any means but back in april I would of scheduled a meeting with Sippy and the Region and try to work something out, instead we are going to do it in January. I say BULL why has it not been done yet? because you people cannot see it that everyone in power in this town does not give a fat rats ass about you and I. Maybe just maybe its time for us to write letters to Sippy and attend Region meetings like I have and handle this ourselves. I think that it would be a more prudent thing to do with our writing skills than worrying about what Pat, Ed, and Paul are doing i mean who really cares, they all have the same thing in common they love to hear themselves talk about themselves and all of them will go away if we the people who have to pay for their ineptness IGNORE THEM. Think about it
Hey, ease up on the throttle. I hope you're not a product of the Region 15 school system, 'cause if you is, we gots ripped off. Remember, children, grammer and capitalization count (but not spellin', cause I sux at spellin')...
Obviously, you spelled "grammar" incorrectly ahahaha
I think it would be great for somebody to go to Tom Gormley and offer to start some sort of Region 15 action committee. Dunno what he will say, but start with Tommy.
I agree with the two anonymouses that something needs to be done. Eddie did nothing. Tommy is very busy fighting off political assassins. I think Tommy will listen to a reasonable voice. Would one of you offer to step up?
If not - is there somebody in town who could be effective at this? Somebody with Hartford political connections? I was thinking Fran Brennan, but maybe somebody else has the right connections. I can tell you this - diplomacy with Sippy ($160K/year) or Southbury town hall is a waste of time. Our money is better spent doing battle in Hartford.
Thoughts?
Middlebury's Gormley forms exploratory campaign committee
Read article
MIDDLEBURY -- First Selectman Thomas Gormley’s former campaign manager is organizing an exploratory committee to consider Gormley’s re-election in 2009.
“We’re out there looking to see who would be interested,” said John Cookson, who is also chairman of the Industrial and Economic Development Commission. “Gov. (M. Jodi) Rell did the same thing, so why can’t we? January 1 is coming, and the election is only 10 months down the road.”
The announcement comes almost a year to the day Gormley first took office. Gormley said the committee will allow him to get a pulse on the community.
“We can put our feelers out there and see where we’re at,” he said Thursday. “If I’ve had one then I’ve had a hundred people ask me about it. I figured we’d take it off and see where it goes.”

Earth to Eddie!
Tom is not rolling over!
MRTC meets next Tuesday. I wonder whether this will come up as a topic of discussion. Tom has called their hand.
"This town needs to come together. The first selectman needs to
bring folks together. THAT is the first order of business."
Really Pat! You just got finished bashing the town and the hard working people in it and your saying now that they need to come together. Pat you don't want that because if people did come together then you would have no place in this town. Stop your lies and distortions so you can have your hard on every morning.
For someone who puts pictures of himself as an all state football player on his web site your pretty much a whimp for not being able to show yourself in public. Coward!!!!!
In fact I would love to see you go to a BOF meeting. I know Dayton would make you look like a fool. But then again you probably wouldn't say anything and then you would go back to your web site.
Sorry to bring up something from OMP, but I notice that Pattie is publishing letters from MVFD members who want Perrotti to resign. I don't know if this is the Proulx faction or Bernardi or some Heidkamp lover, but it says rat to me. There is a tradition in volunteer fire departments to keep such matters between the members. These rats are trashing a great organization and playing into the hands of the puppet master.
Look in the mirror guys. What are you doing?
buddy I know your right about the rats and you will see in the next month or so that some of them will be delt with (hint)but that is a made up letter because there is no name on it. If its not signed then don't believe a word. Even Paaties friends are cowards
What goes around comes around guys.
You rats don't mind feeding the evil demon now. You think Pattie's distortions will help you win your political battle. Trouble is, you make the demon stronger by feeding it. Then some day, when you no longer need the demon, you find that it wants to feed on you.
What goes around comes around guys.
Well, I can assure you all that the Proulx family has nothing to do w/DeAngelis. The whole clan can't stand the man, and cringe every time some Proulx appears on his "Pit". I get annoyed at some of them from time to time, but it's my opinion that they keep FD business where it belongs, at the FD.
The whole "half chief" taunting is designed to tear the MVFD apart. If the Proulx's are above that kind of thing - great.
Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department Puts Children in Danger
This would be the headline in OMP if Pattie wrote about the ice skating rink being built at Shepardsons.
The Sunday Republican American said "The rink's ice will be provided and maintained by the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department"
