Tom Gormley Cuts The Municipal Budget By $828,214.00

FINANCE BOARD STILL DOESN'T GET IT. THEY WANT TO RAISE YOUR TAXES BY 7%

Apparently Mr. DeAngelis does not get it.  He keeps claiming that taxes will go up 7%.  Where are all those increases Mr. DeAngelis?  Are they on the Town municipal budget?  NO!  They are all on the Region 15 side of the budget. The Region 15 budget has already been passed by the voters, and there is nothing Tom Gormley or the BOF can do about it at this point.  Are we to strip our Town down to nothing every time there are Region 15 increases?

The Town side of the budget has been actually cut by $828,214.00.  That’s $828,214.00 less than Mr. St. John’s budget.  Tom Gormley is cutting the budget and slowing the increase in taxes.

I suppose it is Tom Gormley’s fault that the Town has lost $700,000.00 in revenues this year because of the economy. Its Tom’s fault the Town has lost $103,000.00 in interest.  Apparently, Mr. DeAngelis believes that Tom Gormley controls the Stock Markets.

Is it also Tom Gormley’s fault that the Town is short $928,000.00 from Mr. St. John’s Washington Dr. project?

Tom Gormley inherited this mess from Mr. St. John and is doing his best to turn it around.  There are new projects for saving money in the works, but things are going to take some time.

Mr. DeAngelis has contributed to the problem as well, by wasting $20,000 of taxpayer money with his frivolous FOIs.

Last, do people know that Tom Gormley is actually being paid $8000 less than what Mr. St. John was paid.  Mr. DeAngelis incorrectly reported on his website that Tom gave himself a raise, when in reality he received a $8000.00 pay cut.
