This is just an outright lie. It is well documented everywhere that Tom Gormley has cut the taxes on the Town side by 3.16%. Because of the huge increase in the Region 15 budget the total increase is 5.98%.
These figures are not in dispute, yet Mr. DeAngelis continues to tell his readers some fictitious “boys club” wants to raise taxes by 10%. Mr. DeAngelis’s information is not accurate.

Thats not what Pat is saying. Pat is saying that Gormley is raising taxes by 10%. That is a big lie.
Ask St. John why the town side is so high. Gormley is selling the construction company and trying to undo what St. John did to this town.

Hello! Didn't you listen to the Board of Finance Tapes? Or do you only listen to the propaganda and distortions of deangelis?
Trust me. If Keli Bollard could have taken the budget down further then she would have jumped into the spotlight and done it. But if you listen to the tapes you will hear that neither she nor anyone else had a realistic plan to cut more than 3.1% in the next fiscal year.
They go round and round. Listen to the entire 90 minutes. But every time somebody suggests an idea another person comes up with an unarguable reason why it won't work in the next fiscal year. Most of the suggestions were cuts that would be instantly restored from contingency.
Tell me. Now that Bollard cannot deliver the big cuts she promised - is she out of the Deangelis lovers club? Too bad. I always thought they were a great team.

They discussed layoffs. No help in the next FY due to unemployment compensation, severance, and insurance payments, etc. etc.
But yes - in the long term, layoffs are inevitable.
oh give me a break !!!! since when does it cost the same to not layoff someone. so someone gets unemployment checks that equal their pay ????? only in Middlebury

Guess what? You know those two women who got arrested last night? Those two women attended the Board of Finance meeting and watched their idols McCormack and Bollard come up with the 5.999% mil rate increase. Those two women listened to all the discussion back and forth before the UNANIMOUS vote at the end.
And then these fine citizens marched like zombies back to Pat Deangelis's lair and got enough additional stupiditity injections to go out and steal the "Support the Budget" signs.
