A Fire Engine Is A Waste Of Money

            “This budget...(except for the wasted 80 

grand for the fire dept, a dept that has more than enough of its own money) ..

this budget is a perfect example of "a death of a thousand little cuts"

Wasted $80,000? That money will be going to replace one of the MVFD’s aging apparatus. Four pieces of apparatus now over the age of 20 years, because Mr. St. John did nothing to replace them since the MVFD requested action back in 2002.

Who was it who said, “That Fire Department will never see a new piece of apparatus as long as Paul Perrotti is Chief.”  ... ???

Would Mr. DeAngelis feel the same way if his house was on fire and Engine 3 failed?  Who would he be blaming then?  

What is being wasted here is common sense.
