Prestigious Veteran's Status Bestowed Upon John Dayton By MVFD

 "Chairman of the Finance Bd. , John Dayton, was awarded "veteran" status by the Fire Dept at a dinner. Want to know how many fire calls he made between 2004 and 2007 None. That's right, according to the documents turned over to us by the Fire Dept. under the FOI laws John Dayton made NO fire calls during the time period 2004-2007. Gee, do you think there was some "other" reason he was 

awarded this special status?"

Yes, Mr. DeAngelis there was some “other” reason... 

 

Going to the Veteran's list has nothing to do with the number of Fire Calls one attends, but rather has everything to do with how many years a member has been with the Fire Department. John had reached the minimum requirements years ago, yet stayed on the Regular Member roster.  It was John’s decision to transfer his name to the Veteran’s list. Basically if you are still breathing after so many years on the Fire Department you can go on the Veteran's list. Not much news there...
